Diploma Course with 20 Scholarships by England Optical

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- England Optical Group, the largest optical chain store in Malaysia with more than 100 outlets, is offering 20 scholarships worth RM1.6 million to Malaysian Indians.
Successful candidates will be enrolled for the four-year Fellow of British Dispensing Opticians diploma course conducted at the group's Optopreneur Institute here. Graduates of the programme will be employed by the group as opticians and have the opportunity to take up franchise offers later on.
The scholarship scheme was announced by Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk G. Palanivel at a news conference, Wednesday. Also present was England Optical chief executive officer Datuk Dr Chin See Keat. Palanivel urged Indian students to think "out of the box" and venture into professions other than law and medicine.
"Indian students must think differently in term of choosing their careers," he said. The scholarship is open to Indian students nationwide. Applicants must be aged between 18 and 28 years and have at least credits in any four subjects such as mathematics, additional mathematics, general science, biology, chemistry and English language in their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination.

Entry Requirement:
Age between 17 - 28 years
SPM / STPM or equivalent.

Minimum requirement results for SPM:
SUBJECT GRADE
Mathematics 1-6
Science 1-6
2 Optional subject 1-6
English (preferable) 1-6

Main Features of Scholarship Program EOG Scholarship Program worth RM 53,000 each. This> includes course fees, examination fees, membership fees, text books, accomodation etc. Cash Award will be given for those who past the examination at first attempts.

Intakes per year: Feb/April/July/Sept
All Malaysians are encouraged to apply. Applications can be submitted one month prior to the commencement date. Interested applicants are strongly advised to apply early as Scholarships are approved on first come first reserve basis. Remember limited scholarships are available.
